SUZUKI TR750 / GT750 LOWER COOLING SYSTEM / OIL DRAIN PLUG.
Part Number: BDK08 XR1113
ANODISED 6082T6 ALUMINIUM LIGHTWEIGHT RACING PART
85% to 90% Weight saving!
This
is a replacement for the heavy (and fairly ugly) coolant drain plug and
oil drain plug. As we know the difference between an average bike and a
very good one is in the detail, every little part.
This part was made by request of one of our customers and complements the large coolant blanking plug already listed by us.
You
will see that we already have lightweight head nuts and bolts and
titanium base studs available for these machines (see our other ebay
listings).
The
plug is machined to take an o-ring (which is not pictured, but is
supplied with the bolt), and weighs less than a sixth of the original
coolant plug and a tenth of the oil plug - another 58g weight saving,
but it's aesthetically pleasing and a clearly a race part.
When
assembling please do not omit the o-ring. These engines vibrate quite a
bit, but you should still only apply 12 Nm (9 ft lbs) torque when
tightening. Remember that the original torque is to make a steel bolt
(which grows less quickly than ally), stay in an ally crankcase and also
crush a metal washer to seal. You will notice that these items are
pre-drilled to accept locking-wire as a security measure for racing (and
road use).
Please
note that this listing is for one of the two (identical) plugs. We
will be listing the kit separately - it may already be listed by now.
One
more part in the long list being developed to make good quality GP
replicas of the TR750 and to make road-going GT750's lighter and faster.
We are now consistently getting 100bhp and more at the rear wheel of
these bikes without 'going the whole hog' and would realistically expect
to achieve 120-130bhp (or more) at the rear wheel when we are done.
